Hotline Team Blog
Hi there - thanks for trying this out! I'm sure we will all get new ideas and share some valuable experiences. For example: I received a call from a woman who was trying to catch a ferral cat and instead caught a skunk in a live trap. I told her to throw a cover ove the trap - leaving the door uncovered. Then advised her to just open up the door and let the poor creature go! That seemed to work (after some convincing). Does anyone else have a better idea?? Pam

i think this blog will help all of us understand how we feel about the hotline and share ideas and stories (and problems) with our team mates.
Thanks Pam
Greetings,
First, I think this is brilliant -- I have always wanted a way to share the experience of fellow HotLiners, hear the war stories, learn from their wisdom!
Second, I can't think of a better way to deal with a mis-trapped skunk. =]
Dana
Joni - can you get in now?
Let me know if you are having trouble posting a comment or signing in. Pam
Joel will be out of town for his shift Monday, Dec. 8th, AM. Can anyone sub for him? Pam
Thanks for setting this up Pam! I think this is a great way to share lessons learned. I'm looking forward to hearing tips and nuggets of good info from the team. And I think the way you handled the skunk call was a fine example Pam!
P.S. if anyone is not able to attend next Saturday's Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon, would you be willing to cover all/part of my shift from 12:30 - 4 while I attend?
Found a good resource today for beekeepers who humanely remove bee swarms (some free, some for fee): ebeehoney.com. There is a link for Swarm Removal, which then lists beekeepers throughout the state, including SD County. The Dept. of Agriculture, listed in the manual, is no help. Last summer they advised me to hire an exterminator!
P.S. I must be blog challenged--how do I post a new thread instead of replying to this old thread? Thx
